Gleneagle Hotel Open Doubles and Singles.

Open Doubles and Singles competitions were held at the Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney, in conjunction with the Grand Finals of the Ireland Players’ Championships at the Grand Slam Irish Darts Festival

Ladies’ Doubles Winners – Margaret Kelliher and Helen O’Neill.

 

The Festival commenced on the Friday night with the doubles events and the first winners of the weekend were local players, Margaret Kelliher and Helen O’Neill, who defeated Anne O’Sullivan and Kay McCarthy from Cork to capture the Ladies’ title.

Men’s Doubles Winners – Kieran Kehoe and Martin Murphy

First prize in the Men’s Doubles went to Kieran Kehoe and Martin Murphy who defeated Michael Meaney and Gerry O’Hara in the final.

Men’s Singles Winner – Garrett Gray

 

Three Singles competitions were held on Day Two of the Festival with victory going to Garrett Gray in the Men’s competition with a 5 – 1 win over Benny Grace in the final.

The beaten semi-finalists were Mick McGowan and Dean Finn.

Ladies’ Singles Winner – Kay O’Carroll.

 

Kay O’Carroll was victorious in the Ladies’ Singles with wins over Sharon O’Brien in the semis and Marrion Werder in the final. The other beaten semi-finalist was Jennie Doyle.

Youths’ Singles Winner Dean Finn with Tony ‘Mr.Darts’ Hickey.

The Gleneagle Hotel Youths’ Open Singles was won by Dean Finn {Waterford} who defeated Ciaran Teehan {Cork} by four legs to one in the final.

In the semi-finals Dean defeated Jordan Lonergan {Waterford} 3 – 0 and Ciaran had a 3 – 1 win over Keith Silles {Kerry}.

 

Ireland Darts Players’ Championships

The 2014 Ireland Players’ Championships were concluded on Sunday, May 25th, at the Grand Slam Irish Darts Festival in the Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney, Co Kerry.

The Men’s Championship was won by Martin Murphy {Wexford} who defeated Eric Dunlea {Cork} 7 – 3 in the final

In the semi-finals Martin had a 7 – 5 win over Michael Meaney {Kilkenny} while Eric eliminated Benny Grace {Kilkenny} on a 7 – 3 scoreline.

Ladies’ Champion – Sharon O’Brien {Kildare}

The Ladies’ title went to Sharon O’Brien {Kildare} who accounted for Teresa Maher {Laois} by five legs to one in the final.

In the semi-finals the champion defeated Sharon Buckley {Cork} and Teresa eliminated Jennie Doyle {Waterford}.

Youths’ Champion – Ciaran Teehan {Cork}

Ciaran Teehan {Cork} was crowned Youths’ Champion with a  4 – 2 victory over Jordan Lonergan {Waterford} after he defeated the reigning champion, Liam Gallagher from Galway 3 – 0 in the semis.

The other beaten semi-finalist was John Seagrave {Dublin}.

The Youths’ Shield went to Sam Dunphy {Kilkenny} who defeated Michael Walters from Waterford.
