The competition shall be known as the 2008 Irish Matchplay Darts Championship {I.M.D.C.} and it shall be confined to darts players {male or female} who have been resident in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland for at least twelve months. 2. Players {male or female} must be aged 16 years or over on December 19th., 2008. 3. The I.M.D.C. shall be held at Hotel Kilkenny, College Road, Kilkenny City, on Sunday, August 31st., 2008, commencing at 12 noon sharp and players must check-in between 10.30am and 11.30am. 4. Format - Best of 9 legs 501 straight start , except the semi-finals {11 legs 501} and the final {13 legs 501}. 5. The winner shall be invited to compete in the Preliminary Round of the 2009 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship which commences on December 19th., 2008, at Alexandra Palace in London. 6.
