Malahide was to become the home for the Divisional Finals for six years starting with the 1984 competition which was won by Tom O´Connor (Wexford) who defeated Pat O´Shea (Tipperary) in the final.

 

The Tipperary man had his day in 1988 when he defeated Mick Hogg (Westmeath) for his place in history.
