The
Republic of Ireland lost one of it’s great characters
recently with the death of Tom Elliffe , former Chairman
of the Irish National Darts Organisation.
Originally from
Tullamore in County Offaly Tom moved to Cork many years
ago and he made a big name for himself as a darts player
in his adopted county.
He was an Area
Champion of the News of the World Championship and he
also won the Cork City Individual Championship.
He was a member
of the great Cork County team that won the first Irish
Inter-Counties Championship in 1982 and was the only
member of the team to go through the campaign
undefeated.
He was a very
capable administrator in the local league and at
National level and he will be sadly missed by his family
and large circle of friends.
