Shay O’Brien R.I.P.  February 2006

It was with great sadness that we heard of the death of Shay O’Brien (Dublin) who passed away recently after a long battle against cancer.
 

Shay was one of Ireland’s greatest darts players and he represented his country at the highest level for many years.
 

He represented the Republic of Ireland at the Europe Cup and World Cup on many occasions and he was the only Irish player to win back-to-back titles in the Eire Division of the News of the World Championship in the mid-70’s.
 

He was a true gentleman and will be sadly missed by his many friends.
We extend our deepest sympathy to his family on their great loss.
