Again, a very successful Tournament in memory of Maureen Owens, Leitrims and one of Irelands top Darts Players for many years. This year, the committee decided that instead of Main Sponsors, each board (6) would be sponsored at €100.00 each. Board Sponsors were David Cathy, Publican, Leitrim Village; Seamus Gallagher, Drumkeerin; Gael-Linn Lotteries; Monicas Pub, Drumshanbo and Drino, Aughacashel (Jointly) and Chrissie McLoughlin, Lough Allen Coffee Shop, Drumkeerin who very kindly sponsored 2 Boards and indeed kept us all fed for the evening.

All of the Trophies were kindly sponsored by Davitts Pub and thanks to Francis and the Davitt Family for the gesture and indeed for having the bar opened for the evening.

A very successful raffle was held and thanks to Mary Langan, Cosy Corner; Gerard McKenna and Thomas McHugh for sponsoring the prizes.

Thanks to Rowanberry Enterprises for the use of the Community Centre; Tommy & Margaret O’Rourke for providing the Amplification; Seamus Gilhooly and Lough Allen College for the use of tables; The Irish National Darts Organisation for the use of their Stands; The local Radio Stations and Newspapers for their help in promoting the Tournament and to the Owens Family for their attendance and to Margaret and Tom for their kind donation. Finally, thanks to all the players who took part, many who travelled long distances and hopefully many of them will return next year. Proceeds from the Tournament will be presented to North West Hospice, The Mall, Sligo at a date to be announced.
