Tom was a true gentleman and was Ireland's
greatest ambassador on the International scene.
He represented his country with pride at many world events and when he
joined the WDC/PDC
in the early 90's he graced the Sky Sports TV events with distinction.
Tom was a great character who was ever-present at darts tournaments all over
the country and he was always one of the first names on the entry list at these events.
The winner of the Irish Matchplay will be invited to compete in the
Ladbrokes.com World Darts
Championship in London next December and Matt Porter, Chief Executive of the
PDC, has described
it as very fitting that legendary Tom Kirby's name should be associated with
such a prestigious event.
Entry forms for the Tom Kirby Memorial Irish Matchplay Championship
will be available shortly
and full details of the event are available from either Michasel O'Sullivan
{087-2648291} or Joe Coyne
{085-1596550}.
