The Ireland Players' Championship is now in it's sixth season and the dates and venues for the 2011 event have now been finalised.    Round One will be played at the Springhill Court Hotel in Kilkenny on Sunday, October 31st. and a new venue, the Limerick Strand Hotel, will host Round Two on Sunday, November 28th.

One disappointing aspect of the 2010 Championships was the poor turnout for the Ladies' event. In an effort to boost the ladies' involvement for the coming Championship the organisers have decided to increase to sixteen the number of qualifiers for the Grand Finals and these will be played on a Round Robin basis with the players divided into four groups and the top two from each group to qualify for the quarter-finals.

The 2010 Championships were recorded by TG4 and are being shown over a six week period on Monday nights at 7.30pm with repeat programmes on the following Saturday morning.
