the John O’Loughlin Memorial Trophy on August 13th., with a 6
– 5 victory over William O’Connor in an all-Limerick final at the Green
Isle Hotel, Dublin.
In the
semi-finals Connie defeated Jacko Barry and William eliminated Mickey
Mansell.
110 players
competed on the day.

The dates for the 2012
Ireland Players’ Championships have been announced with the prestigious
4-Star Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa and Country Club in Carlow being added
to the list for Round Two.

Championship Qualifiers at the Green Isle
The Green Isle
Hotel in Dublin is the venue for two PDC World Championship qualifying
events on the last weekend of August.
The Irish
Under-21 Matchplay Championship will be staged on the Saturday at 3 .00pm
with the winner going forward to represent Ireland in the last 64 of the
PDC World Youth Championship in Crawley, England, on November 4th.
The Tom Kirby
Memorial Irish Matchplay Championship is the main event on Sunday,
August 28th.,with a place in the Ladbrokes.com World
Championship at stake.

The last two
players at the Green Isle will contest the final on stage at the City
West Hotel in Dublin prior to the World Grand Final on October 9th.
with the eventual winner being invited to compete at Alexandra Palace in
London next December.
The closing
date for entries for both competitions is August 19th.

Clonmel Championships

The GAA Centre in Clonmel was the venue
over the August Bank Holiday Weekend for the first running of the
Clonmel Team and Singles Championships.
The event was well supported
by teams and players from all corners of the country with the Patriot’s/
Boomers team from Dublin winning the Team event and John O’Shea from
Cork defeating Connie Finnan {Limerick} in the Singles final.
