Our sincere thanks to everybody who supported the raffle
to cover Nicola O’Donovan’s travelling and accommodation
expenses in Perth, Western Australia, where she will be
representing the Republic of Ireland in the World Cup at
the end of September.
The raffle was held on Saturday, September 3rd., at
Forde’s Bar in the city where the Cork ladies’ team had
a pre-season ‘Friendly’ on the same night against a
visiting team from the Confey GAA Club in Leixlip, Co.
Kildare.
The Cork girls won the
match and the ‘sing-song’ ended in a draw.
Sports Star Award for Darren
Darren O’Hea from Bantry was the recipient of the prestigious West Cork ‘Sports
Star of the Month’ Award for July in recognition of his performances with the
Cork Youths’ team and his great win in the INDO National Youths’ Singles
Championship. The monthly award is sponsored by the Southern Star
Newspaper, 103 FM Radio and the Celtic Ross Hotel in Rosscarbery.
Darren is currently ranked at Number One in the INDO Rankings List and he has
been invited to compete in the World Youths’ Singles in Bridlington in October.

What’s Darts Got To Do With It ?

Congratulations to the 2004 Cork captains, Sharon Buckley and Joe Collins, on
their new arrival, baby Lee Keith - another up and coming player for the
Millwheel Bar in Kinsale.
Majorca 501 !

While on holidays in Palma Nova I bumped into Cork Youth player, Gary Condron,
sporting his brand new darts shirt.
