Internationals in Cork - 1980
The 8th.
Home International Darts Championship was held at the Savoy
Centre, Cork City, on Friday 14th. and Saturday 15th.
November 1980.
The five Home
countries competed and all of the top players were in attendance.
England was
captained by John Lowe and they also had Eric Bristow and Bobby
George in their squad.
Jocky Wilson was the
star of the Scotland team which was captained by Rab Smith.
Leighton Rees and
Alan Evans competed with Wales while Northern Ireland were led by
Billy Mateer.
There were three
Cork players, Sean Crowley, John Buckley and Matt O’Sullivan, on
the Republic of Ireland team.
The
Championship was won by England with Scotland finishing in 2nd.
